Dana White could not resist a chance to take a shot at Oscar De La Hoya when asked about his return to boxing.
The former six weight world champion is planning a return to the boxing ring despite being retired for more than a decade.
The 47-year-old’s last fight was a loss to Manny Pacquiao back in December 2008.
De La Hoya is following the trend of veteran fighters who want to get back into the ring - with Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield and Roy Jones Jr all set to make a comeback.
He has teased a return to the sport many times over the years but confirmed that he would be back in training soon.
“The rumours are true,” De La Hoya said, “and I’m going to start training in the next few weeks.”
UFC president and the former world champion boxer have a long rivalry and, back in October, White labelled him a ‘scumbag, liar and complete moron’.
The pair used to be friends but their relationship is said to have deteriorated due to White’s involvement in the world of boxing.

He said: “Cocaine isn’t cheap. It’s expensive. You’ve got to make money.”
De La Hoya has admitted to being addicted to cocaine and alcohol in the past.
He enjoyed an illustrious career in the ring winning 11 world titles across six weight classes in a career that spanned from 1992 to 2008.
